COUNTRY FRIED STEAK

Country Fried Steak

Country Fried Steak

Country Fried Steak, also known as chicken fried steak, is a popular southern inspired dish. Largely found in diners offering southern style cooking, it’s a great rib sticker. Normally it’s served up with a white “sawmill” gravy with mashed potatoes but we substituted stuffing and added green beans on the side. Kind of like inviting Bob Evans ™ into the kitchen but you get to make it yourself. Easy to make if you are a kitchen short order cook. And of course it always tastes better cooked in cast iron. So grab that skillet and whip up a batch for your favorite truck driver. They always know where the good food is 🙂
