LODGE L14SK3 CAST IRON SKILLET

    Thanksgiving has come and gone, and since I was in charge of the food preparation committee for this years feast, I procured one of our best selling products for this years repast. This is one of Lodges larger skillets weighing in at 13 pounds with a diameter of 15.25″, and 2.25″ deep. Ideal for cooking for a large group of hungry family members. First up was a pre-thanksgiving Sheppard’s Pie based on one of my recipes, the usual dressing of onions, celery, poultry seasoning, and turkey juice mixed on the stove top and transferred to the oven, and finally some nice thick strip steaks when everyone was turkeyed out. While it does take a bit of strength to maneuver from range to oven (pot holders are a must) and to clean, it’s size was perfect for feeding 7 people with leftovers. As this skillet was new, it got a quick seasoning with spray cooking oil in a 350 degree oven for an hour and it was ready to go. Information and ordering available here.
