Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 large Fresh Green Tomatoes
  • 1 cup All purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Yellow Cornmeal
  • 3 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1 cup Oil
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • Black Pepper to taste.

Instructions

  • Whisk flour, cornmeal, and salt together in a dredging pan.
  • Whisk eggs and milk together in a large bowl.
  • Heat oil in cast iron skillet over medium heat till hot.
  • Dip tomato slices in egg wash, dredge in flour mix.
  • Place in hot oil one and brown on both sides.

Notes

For a nicer crust, repeat the egg flour dredge. See video below.
