- 1 cup onion finely chopped
- 1/2 cup salad oil
- 1 1/2 cups ketchup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 6 - 8 drops Frank's hot sauce or equivalent
Grab your trusty cast iron skillet, add the oil and heat over medium for about 15 minutes. add the onion and cook until slightly brown and translucent.
Reduce heat to medium low and add everything else. Simmer for an hour, turn off the heat and let cool. Transfer to a suitable container, use what you need and freeze the rest.
